The mechanism of therapeutic action of Kagocel is provided by its ability to stimulate the production of interferons. Under its influence, the natural synthesis of "late interferon," a mixture of alpha and beta isomers with maximum antiviral activity, is intensified. Interferon production is intensified in all cells that are important for the antiviral response.
The maximum concentration of interferon is reached 48 hours after the first dose of Kagocel. The duration of the subsequent circulation of interferon in the circulatory system reaches 120 hours. In the intestine, the growth of interferon concentration occurs much faster. The maximum production is observed after 4 hours.
With the right reception, which does not contradict this instruction, the drug does not show toxic properties and does not accumulate in the body. Studies have not shown carcinogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic or embryotoxic properties.
