Hirudotherapy - restoration of the body for modern active life!
Treatment with medical leeches is a method of medicine recognized from ancient times, but even now it is no less relevant. About 400 species of leeches are known on the Earth globe and only a medical leech can be used in medical practice. It should be noted that medical leech in hirudotherapy is a "one-time tool" (it is used only once), which completely excludes infection of the patient. Leeches are grown in special factories, where the strictest quarantine passes.
Hirudotherapy has no analogues among modern methods of treatment. This is due to the special properties of the leech secret, which has a beneficial effect on the body with the help of biologically active substances of natural origin, injected leech into the patient's blood. Medical leech is an excellent remedy for treating a number of diseases, since it does not introduce into the bloodstream substances with side effects.
activates blood microcirculation;
improves saturation of tissues with oxygen and nutrients;
dissolves thrombi in the blood and prevents the formation of new ones;
restores the biofield.
Hirudotherapy - the oldest method of treatment with leeches. About 400 species of leeches are known in nature. For medical purposes, only the "medical leech" type and its two subspecies can be used: medicinal leech and apothecary leech. It is these leeches that are included in the pharmacopoeial article and are officially a medicinal product. Leeches are grown under artificial conditions at bio-factories under the careful supervision of biologists.
The method of hirudotherapy (the so-called treatment with leeches) is not so easy to apply as it seems at first glance. Treat with leeches can only a highly qualified specialist with a higher education - a doctor who has received special training. Leeches use once - as a syringe, after which they are destroyed.
The therapeutic effect of hirudotherapy consists of several factors. Firstly, the leech has an effect similar to the method of acupuncture, which is why it is very important to choose the right points for posing leeches. Secondly, the leech is a "factory" for the production of a huge amount of biologically active substances - enzymes, which are truly a curative natural medicine that heals from many ailments with the proper "application." And, finally, in a purely mechanical discharge of blood and lymph flow. Leeches are used for a variety of diseases, and sometimes they are also saved from surgical interventions, for example, with varicose veins, thrombophlebitis, hemorrhoids, uterine myomas, endometriosis, ovarian cysts:
Hirudotherapy is also highly effective in hypertension, vascular dystonia, ischemic heart disease, in the prevention of heart attack, stroke: In diseases of the musculoskeletal: apparatus arthrosis, osteochondrosis, intervertebral hernias; with neurological disorders - migraines, encephalopathies, radiculitis, neuritis, leeches also bring invaluable help.
With gynecological diseases: cysts, uterine myomas, endometriosis, adhesions, infertility, menstrual irregularities, leeca climax help to forget these problems. Hirudotherapy also helps to get rid of cellulite, to restore metabolism, to become more beautiful and younger: It is quite difficult to list all the diseases in which a leech helps, but only a few contraindications. Contraindications for hirudotherapy are: hemophilia, severe degree of anemia, hemorrhagic diathesis. The course of treatment and the number of sessions is strictly individual and depends on the patient's condition, degree, severity of pathology. Usually the course of treatment lasts 2-4 weeks in outpatient conditions, hirudotherapy sessions are held 1-3 times a week strictly individually. The method of hirudotherapy does not tolerate the "1 tablet 3 times a day" approach.
(Hirudo medicinalis), a ringed worm of a class of leeches. The body length is on average 12 cm. The dorsal side is greenish with orange strips and black dots. In the throat of the medical leech there are 3 jagged jaws, on the edges of which open the ducts of the salivary glands. The medical leech lives in fresh water bodies of Central and Southern Europe and Asia Minor. It feeds on the blood of large mammals entering the water during a watering-place. The saliva of M. p. Contains hirudin, which prevents blood coagulation, so the wounds cut by its jaws bleed for a long time. A medical leech is used for bleeding with healing purposes. In modern medicine, they are used for thrombophlebitis, hypertension, predindsultnyh states, etc.

Treatment with leech atherosclerosis of the brain
Atherosclerosis - a chronic disease caused by a violation of fat and protein metabolism - affects mainly the arteries of the elastic and muscle-elastic types. As the disease develops, lipids and proteins are deposited in the wall of the arteries, around which connective tissue grows (hence the name of the disease: Greek athere - gruel, skleros - solid).
The development of atherosclerosis of the brain is facilitated by factors such as hereditary predisposition, malnutrition (excessive intake of foods containing a significant amount of fats and carbohydrates), mental and emotional stress, increased blood pressure, as well as violations in the work of internal organs. Today, atherosclerosis is one of the most common diseases. Most often it affects people over the age of 35 years. In women, this disease develops about 10 years later than in men, which is due to the action of female sex hormones.
In the early stages of the disease, fat-protein complexes are deposited in the inner shell of the arteries. You can detect them only with a special examination. As the disease develops around the deposited fat-protein complexes, connective tissue grows, and plaques are found on the inner surface of the arteries and aorta.
Under each of these plaques, the layers of the vascular wall are destroyed, after which the plaque penetrates into the muscle layer. Later, calcium salts (lime) are deposited in the formed atherosclerotic plaque and surrounding tissue. The plaque becomes more dense, fragile, narrows the lumen of the vessel, not allowing the flow of blood to enter the affected vessel.
Manifestations of the disease depend primarily on which vessels are affected. Atherosclerosis of cerebral vessels is most often noted in elderly people. As the disease develops, the blood supply to the brain decreases and, as a result, constant oxygen starvation. Later, dizziness occurs, memory deterioration occurs, work capacity decreases, senile dementia develops.
When plaques cover a significant part of the cerebral arteries, there is a danger of developing ischemic stroke and rupture of the vessel. In the latter case, the blood goes out and impregnates the brain tissue. By the same principle, many other vascular lesions of the brain develop, including hemorrhage, thrombosis and embolism.
Treatment of atherosclerosis consists in regulating nutrition; it is necessary to avoid stressful situations. From the diet, salt is almost completely eliminated, which is successfully replaced by useful and nutritious soy sauces and similar products. The volume of consumed liquid is reduced.
With paralysis of nerves, cerebral atherosclerosis, concussions, concussions and the like neurological disorders, dulotherapy is extremely useful. The first doctor who investigated the effect of hemorrhage in brain tremors was N.I. Pies. In his work "The Beginnings of General Military Surgery," he wrote: "As soon as a little paint appeared in the face of the patient and the pulse rose, I now put the leeches behind my ears."
Extensive clinical observations of patients who were treated with leeches with all the diseases listed in this section, conducted VA. Lukashev. He observed more than 600 patients and after hemorrhage noted they had a significant improvement in their well-being, including stabilization of sleep and return of appetite.
The action of leeches on the circulation of the human brain is amazing, although its mechanisms have not been clarified to the end. Back in 1952, Professor M.A. Egorov, a Moscow surgeon, found that headaches with concussion pass in the half of the head where leeches were placed. In the other half, pain is usually retained until leeches are placed there.
Treatment with leech dental diseases.
Alveolitis (alveolar pyorrhea), periostitis, periodontitis (acute and chronic at the stage of exacerbation), along with the presence of a local inflammation focus in the maxillofacial area are also characterized by intoxication of the organism, expressed to some extent. Among the severe symptoms: high temperature, worsening of sleep, depression, lowering of efficiency, bad mood, etc. In connection with this, in addition to local treatment, such patients are prescribed treatment that affects their general condition: antibiotics, sedatives, sulfanilamide preparations. We have repeatedly said that drug treatment is not always harmless to patients: the risk of allergic organism increases, in addition, chemical preparations adversely affect internal organs - liver, pancreas, stomach.
Among alternative methods of treatment of inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial area can be called hirudotherapy.
Before hirudotherapy, patients with periodontitis and periostitis underwent surgical operations to open the root canal (with acute periodontitis and its chronic form in the acute stage) and open the abscess to remove its contents (with periostitis). Further, treatment with antiseptic solutions was carried out according to the generally accepted procedure. Then the treatment was "connected" to the hirudini.
With periodontitis, patients immediately after surgery were given 1-2 leeches per transitional fold in the area of the projection of the apex of the tooth root for 5-10 minutes. The rate of hirudotherapy in this category of patients was from 2 to 5 procedures, depending on the severity and extent of the local inflammatory process and the general state of the body. The technique of leeches was as follows: a leech was placed in a glass bottle from under penicillin, its neck was pressed to the place of setting, and the leech itself sucked to the mucosa of the oral cavity. In subsequent sessions of hirudotherapy, the exposure time of the leech increased to 30-40 minutes, which was the time of its saturation.
With periostitis, the time for the first hirudotherapy procedure depended on the amount of inflammation released from the focus. After the operation, the leeches were used, if the amount of detachable was relatively small. Otherwise, the first exposition of leeches was transferred the next day. Leeches were placed along the edges of the incision on the transitional fold for 5-10 minutes. The course was usually 3-5 procedures. The technique and time of leeches were the same as in periodontitis.
Treatment of the alveolitis began with a revision of the socket of the removed tooth - its curettage and washing with an antiseptic solution. From the very first visit, the course of hirudotherapy also began. During this procedure, one leech was placed on the edge of the socket or on the transitional fold. Subsequent sessions (3 to 5) of hirudotherapy were performed daily or every other day. The exposure time of leeches is 5 minutes.
Already after 1-2 sessions of hirudotherapy, patients showed significant improvements: pain decreased or disappeared, and swelling of the tissues was removed. In total, the course of hirudotherapy reduced the period of patients' recovery by 2-2.5 times. After 2-5 sessions of hirudotherapy, patients with periodontitis or periostitis were sealed with canals of the causative teeth and immediately put leeches in the apex of the root to prevent exacerbation of the inflammatory process. The positive effect of hirudotherapy was also confirmed by analytical data - after 2-5 procedures, blood test parameters were normalized. At the same time, no other anti-inflammatory therapy (medication) was performed in this group of patients.
Thus, dentists came to the conclusion that patients with inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region with the development of edematous-pain syndrome can be recommended hirudotherapy.
Treatment of metabolic diseases with the help of hirudotherapy.
The use of leeches is a universal method of healing, eliminates the deterioration of metabolism and stagnation in tissues, blockage of blood vessels.
The effect of hirudotherapy is due to environmentally friendly, naturally occurring substances that descended from the biological conveyor at the time of the treatment session. Medical leeches are produced on a biofactory, they are used once, so the transfer of pathogens is excluded. This is a time-tested, harmless, highly effective method of treatment.
Hirudotherapy beneficially affects the metabolism in the body, especially if there are violations of carbohydrate and fat metabolism. Therefore, they include hirudotherapy in programs for the treatment of cellulite, obesity.
Indications for treatment of metabolic diseases by hirudotherapy:
Treatment with leeches of gastroenterological diseases.
Gastroenterological diseases (colitis, enterocolitis, chronic constipation, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, stomach and duodenal ulcer, gastritis, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, biliary dyskinesia, dyskinesia of the gastrointestinal tract, etc.) are common among the population of Russia, including . among residents of large cities.
The causes of their occurrence: stress, chronic or chronic infections, malnutrition, adverse heredity.
Most often, gastroenterological diseases are chronic and accompanied by intestinal dysbacteriosis.
Current and transferred intestinal infections, diarrhea is always accompanied by intestinal dysbiosis.
Indications for treatment with leeches of gastroenterological diseases:
- biliary dyskinesia
Treatment of hemorrhoids and varicose veins with the help of hirudotherapy (medical leeches).
Features of a person's blood circulation. Circulation in humans is divided into three sections: central, peripheral and microcirculatory. The central circulation includes the heart and large vessels (aorta, carotid arteries, hollow veins, portal vein), the heart provides periodic ejection of blood into the aorta and pulmonary arteries as a pump, and in large arterial vessels, periodic ejection becomes a constant blood flow. Central veins collect blood from smaller veins and return it to the heart.
Peripheral circulation includes arteries and veins of lesser caliber. Arteries distribute blood between organs and in the organs themselves. The veins provide the outflow of blood from the organs to the large venous trunks.
Microcirculatory circulation is the circulation in the smallest vessels.
Microcirculatory duct include arterioles, precapillaries, capillaries, postcapillaries, venules and arteriolo-venular shunts. Microcirculation provides a normal metabolism between blood, tissue and cells.
All three components of the circulatory system are closely related. Disorder of one of them leads to disruption of the functioning of other circulatory systems. Central and peripheral circulation is regulated by the nervous and endocrine systems. Regulation of microcirculation is carried out mainly by local mechanisms: biologically active substances and metabolic products.
The lymphatic system is closely associated with the circulatory system, represented by lymphatic capillaries, lymphatic vessels, lymphatic trunks and nodes. Lymphatic capillaries, representing the final link of the microcirculatory path, begin with "blind" outgrowths in the tissues of the organs. From the lymphatic capillaries, lymph enters the lymphatic vessels, from them into the lymphatic trunks, and then into the venous system. At the level of lymphatic vessels, lymph passes through the lymph nodes. Lymph is formed in the lymphatic capillaries from the tissue fluid.
Most often, women suffer from this disease. The following factors contribute to the development of varicose veins:
- prolonged standing
- congenital weakness of connective tissue ...
Symptoms of varicose veins.
Symptoms: at the beginning of the disease, patients notice a cosmetic defect-the expansion of the saphenous vein on one or another segment of the thigh or lower leg. As the disease progresses, fatigue, a feeling of heaviness in the legs, cramps in the calf muscles, especially in the evening, and sometimes at night, "creepy crawling." Swelling usually occurs in the evening, especially after a long standing, after an overnight rest, swelling completely disappears. Over time, along with the progression of varicose enlargement, trophic disorders appear, most often localized on the lower third of the tibia: densification of the tissues, the skin acquires brown or brownish areas. As a result, if no medical measures are taken, trophic ulcers develop that are difficult to treat. Another complication of varicose veins is thrombophlebitis. With this pathology, blood clots form in the walls of the vein, followed by the development of inflammation. This is a very formidable complication, the danger of which lies in the possibility of "detachment" of the thrombus and its entry into the pulmonary artery. This condition is called pulmonary embolism and very often ends lethally .... Therefore, varicose veins are a very serious disease that must be treated.
Treatment of varicose veins with medical leeches.
Among the many therapies offered to patients suffering from varicose veins, several major ones can be distinguished: surgical, sclerotherapy and hirudotherapy - a very effective method of treating leeches, well forgotten by modern doctors.
Treatment of leech with medical leeches.
Skin diseases, the phenomenon is really common, and before talking about their treatment, it will be a good idea to understand the essence of the problem. And it lies in the universal laws of development of any pathology. The fact is that the skin, from the point of view of preserving the life of the individual, is not such an important organ as the kidney, or the liver and the organism through it (trying to remove endotoxins, and accordingly using it as drainage) solves its problems. It is like, switches the load from the important organs to the skin, according to the principle from the inside - outward.
It becomes clear that suppressing the reaction on the skin (for example hormonal ointment) is wrong and impractical.
Effective leeches are used in the treatment of skin diseases: various types of dermatoses, toxicoderma, eczema, red and lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, elephantiasis, and in some cases psoriasis.
With furunculosis and carbunculosis, hirudotherapy is the most effective and painless method of treatment. The phenomena of redness, swelling and pain disappear the next day after leeches are prescribed. The inflammatory process fades, and along with the absorption of the infiltrate, the outflow of pus improves.
Indications for the treatment of skin diseases hirudotherapy:
Treatment of migraine with hirudotherapy.
Migraine is a one-sided paroxysmal throbbing headache, which has been known to mankind since ancient times. Even the ancient Greeks considered people suffering from headaches, the most unhappy in the world.
According to medical statistics, 90% of complaints about headaches are associated with stresses that a person provokes himself. In this case, the headache becomes the body's response to physical or mental stress. A migraine attack can cause even pleasant events. This is due to the fact that the hormones produced in the stressful situation by the adrenal glands and other endocrine glands retain the muscles of the body in a stressed state. The vessels are squeezed, the muscles need oxygen. Signals about this come to the brain, which reacts to them with a headache. As the stress goes away, the release of hormones decreases, the muscle tension decreases, and the pain gradually stops.
The consequence of chronic headaches caused by physical or mental stress, are vascular headaches. Regular stresses and hormonal changes keep the cerebral vessels in a stressed state, as a result of which their walls are stretched and inflamed, become very sensitive to any external and internal changes and react to them with a severe headache.
The main symptom of migraine is severe acute pain, covering the part of the head. At the same time, brilliant points appear before your eyes, so-called. "flies". The headache can last from 30 minutes to several hours and even days. In some people, during a migraine attack, sensitivity to odors, tastes and various external stimuli increases. In the future, patients complain of pain in one half of the head, as well as pain in the temple, giving into the eye. In the absence of treatment, pain spreads throughout the head, sometimes nausea and vomiting occur.
Headache with migraine can be accompanied by photophobia and general weakness. Physicians found that migraine most often occurs in responsible, active and purposeful people, ie, those who are more sensitive to events around and are in constant mental tension.
American doctors who examined patients suffering from a headache noted that most of them had a hereditary predisposition to this. Thus, in 20% of the patients with migraine, the father and mother were ill. There is so-called. "migraine gene," whose effect is enhanced if one of the unfavorable factors is attached to a hereditary predisposition, for example, hormonal disorders, allergic reactions to foods, etc.
According to the research, episodic pain does not violate the ordinary way of life of a person. Most often, it occurs with physical or emotional overstrain or as a reaction to emotional stress. However, in most cases, in the absence of timely treatment, episodic headache passes into a chronic form of the disease, which dramatically changes the habitual way of life of patients. In this case, the main role is played by depression.
Headache with migraine is easily eliminated by leeches. Simultaneously hirudotherapy eliminates the causes of the disease, normalizing the head blood circulation and healing the affected vessels. It is recommended to put leeches on the mastoid processes behind the ears, the coccyx and around the anus.
Treatment of paralysis of various nerves.
Some of the ailments listed in this chapter are related to inflammatory diseases, others are related to trauma, others are related to neurological disorders, but usually each of these diseases combines several symptoms. However, for any of them, the use of leeches is recommended.
Multiple symmetrical inflammatory lesions of the peripheral nerves are called polyneuritis (Greek poly - many, neuron - nerve). When the roots of the spinal cord are involved in the inflammatory process, the disorder is defined as a half-corduloneuronitis. Usually, both these processes take place simultaneously, so these terms are often used as synonyms. Isolate and such a disorder, as polyneuropathy - symmetrical nerve damage, associated with intoxication or metabolic disorders.
The most common disease of this group is neuropathy (neuritis of the facial nerve), or so-called. Bell's paralysis. Paralysis of the facial nerve ranks second among diseases of the peripheral nervous system. The cause of neuritis of the facial nerve is usually an infection or hypothermia. Characteristic symptoms of the disease are paralysis of facial muscles and paresis, motor disorders are often noted.
Skin folds on the affected area of the face are smoothed out. With exhalation, a swelling of the cheek arises, so-called. symptom of the "sail". In addition, the eye can expand, and the lower eyelid move away from the eyeball, blinking becomes rare. Asymmetry of the face becomes especially noticeable when smiling and laughing. The forehead wrinkles on the affected side, the cheek swells, and the brow furrows. High nerve damage is often accompanied by hearing impairment, dizziness and general malaise, there may be a violation of taste and salivation.
The duration of paralysis depends primarily on the severity of ischemia. If it is not strongly pronounced, the patient's condition gradually improves within 7-10 days, but in most cases recovery occurs within 2 months. If there is no improvement by the 3rd month, the chances of a full recovery are minimal. Among complications, most often pareses and spasms of the muscles of the affected half of the face, creating the impression that not only the sick, but also the healthy side are paralyzed.
The treatment of paralysis is of great complexity and does not always achieve the intended effect. It does not promise miracles and the use of hirudotherapy, although there is a certain chance of success, that is, one should not neglect leeches. Leeches are placed on the affected area along the nerve path. They are usually taken in an amount of 4 copies, but often their number reaches 10. How many leeches, the doctor decides, based on the size of the affected area and the zone of influence of the leech saliva on the nerve.
Treatment of cellulite with medical leeches.
What is cellulite? Cellulite - lat. Cellula is a cell, ending it is an inflammation. In medical terminology, cellulitis is the acute inflammation of subcutaneous fat caused by microbes and requiring antibiotic treatment ...
But in everyday life cellulite is commonly called changes in subcutaneous fat, which is outwardly characterized as an "orange peel" with a predominant localization on the buttocks, hips, riding breeches. Further under "cellulite" we will understand the "orange peel". Cellulite is a change in the subcutaneous fat that is typical for women, which is manifested by the appearance of a bumpy skin surface in the form of an orange peel.
Among women, cellulite occurs in 80-95 percent of cases, this is due to the peculiarity of the hormonal profile of women. Cellulitis usually occurs during the period of "hormonal outbursts": in about 15 percent of cases, cellulitis occurs during puberty, 25 percent during and after pregnancy and in 15 percent of cases during menopause.
The factors that contribute to the development of cellulite include the following:
Inadequate nutrition (a significant amount in the diet of animal fats and a small amount of vegetable, an abundance of carbohydrates, the lack of vegetables, fruits and vitamins in the diet)
Inactive way of life - hypodynamia
Hormonal disorders (dysfunction of the endocrine glands)
Bad habits - smoking, alcohol
As a result, these factors lead to a violation of blood circulation (more precisely microcirculation), which leads to an active growth of connective tissue - an internal "skeleton" for cellulite (cells), places of accumulation of fat, water and metabolic products - "waste" ...
Manifestations of cellulite are familiar to most women. The small-hummocky surface of the skin first appears only when the skin is taken up. Then this tuberosity manifests itself without additional measures. In the final, cellulite can significantly disfigure legs and thighs, which become similar to yeast dough, which is long and stubbornly poked with a finger.
How to eliminate cellulite?
Among the many proposed methods for the treatment of cellulite, for some reason "lost" hirudotherapy (treatment with leeches), although this is the most effective method of eliminating cellulite, especially the "late" and most severe forms and stages.
The matter is that in the saliva of the leech contains biologically active substances - enzymes (there are about a hundred of them), but in the framework of cellulite treatment the most important of them are hyaluronidase and lipase, which have a "basic" therapeutic effect. Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that promotes the cleavage of the main substance of the connective tissue (hyaluronic acid) and the penetration of other biologically active substances into the human body. The "dissolving" effect of hyaluronidase is also of importance in the treatment of diseases accompanied by cicatricial and adhesive processes. Lipase splits fat, which speaks for itself.
Due to the presence of other biologically active substances in the saliva of leeches, microcirculation improves in the tissues, swelling and stagnation are eliminated. But do not rush to buy leeches and put them on your "problem" zones yourself - you will not get a result! Does not mean, as many people think, that when leukemia is cellulite, they put it on problem areas ...
Places of leeches for cellulite can be determined only by a competent specialist individually for each patient, taking into account the concomitant pathology in each case.
Currently, the use of hirudotherapy technology for the treatment of cellulite. As a result, metabolic processes are intensified, lymph flow is restored. Enzymes destroy fat deposits and make the skin soft and supple, eliminate the "orange" crust. There is a reduction in the circumferences of the "problematic" zones, the weight is normalized, the skin becomes smooth, elastic, elastic.
The method of hirudotherapy is unique in that almost simultaneously it is possible to act immediately on several problems.

Secrets of leech extract.
Like most small non-skeletal creatures, leeches have acquired individual means from the class of chemical "weapons." Chemicals are compact, convenient to store and easy to manufacture if necessary. And most importantly, chemical "weapons" are always created on the basis of the biochemistry of their cells, that is, it is an integral part of the body.
Enzymes are produced by the salivary glands and, as is known, enter the patient's blood at the moment of the bite. A significant proportion of the salivary secretion enters the digestive tract of the leech, where the enzymes process the blood reserves.
The secretion of the secretion of the salivary glands has been fully analyzed to date. From this mixture of nutrients all the most important functional proteins are isolated. These include hirudin, destabilase, orghelase, antistasin, decorzine, calin, eagle and some other compounds of the same order. Let's get acquainted with some of the listed enzymes.
In the extract, not all substances should be considered equal; The primary components of the mixture are hirudin, destabilase and orgelase. Secondarily, it is possible to consider antistasin, decorzine, kalin and other components.
The main task of these substances is:
disinfection of blood and saliva,
improvement of some properties of blood,
effects on blood flow and vessel walls. Therefore, a complex of secondary components has a wide range of effects on the human body.
Groups of enzymes are classified according to the nature of their physiological effects on:
influencing the immunity and pathogenic microflora, and therefore, helping the leech disinfect the blood and withstand the onslaught of microbes;
affecting the walls of blood vessels, and thus contributing to their successful biting;
influencing the movement of blood and lymph, since in this way the leech has the ability to consume more blood without making any special effort.
Enzymes of the first group have:
- immunostimulating action.
Enzymes of the second group have:
- antiatherosclerotic action;
- anti-ischemic action.
Enzymes of the third group have:
- predominantly hypotensive action;
- lymphocyte action.
Now we will get acquainted with two very important enzymes - hirudin and destabilase.
Girudin, a spatial model of which scientists have already managed to build on a computer based on the results of chemical tests and physical methods of X-ray and X-ray spectral analysis, is a substance of protein nature. From the chemical point of view, this is a polypeptide, that is, a chain of amino acid residues, with a molecular weight of 16,000. The most important amino acids in this substance are glutamine, asparagine, lysine, cystine, glycine, serine and some others.
With the weak contribution of some other components of the leech extract, hirudin suppresses thrombin activity, thereby blocking the transformation of blood plasma proteins. The small secret of the enzyme is that this substance binds thrombin. Thrombin in its bound form does not show proteolytic properties, so there is no conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin.
Laboratory experiments have shown that hirudin manifests itself as an anticoagulant of rapid action when it is introduced into the body and when it enters the test tubes. Like any enzyme, hirudin is not transformed in the body into new substances, and therefore excreted by the kidneys in an unchanged form.
Instead of the latter, the substance contains a substance with a softer and subtle effect in the saliva of the worm. This substance was called destabilase. The enzyme can not be considered a destroyer; in the full sense of the word, it is a factor destabilizing fibrin. Polymeric fibrin, which forms strong fibers from the framework of an already formed thrombus, is usually called stabilized. Conventional protein breakers, such as proteolytic agents, attain the depolymerization and decomposition of the protein molecule by cleavage of peptide bonds between its links.
The mechanism of action of medicinal enzymes.
The therapeutic effect of medical leeches is determined by the secretions of the secretion of salivary glands, which enters the human body after biting the leech of the skin and continues to act throughout the entire period of bloodsucking. It is established that this secret has such potent effects as anticoagulant, thrombolytic, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory, immunostimulating, bacteriostatic and analgesic. In addition, it was found that the leech enzymes increase the protective properties of blood, excite certain reflexogenic zones of an organ, which has a beneficial effect on the body of a sick person.
Hirudin is the most studied component of the leech secret. He took a worthy place as an effective means for preventing and treating such serious diseases as thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, pre-infarction and post-infarction states, strokes, etc.
Destabilase and leech prostanoids, which cause the thrombolytic properties of the secret, have an antisclerotic effect. Secrets of the leech, besides the above, have a powerful antibacterial effect, so hirudotherapy helps a sick person in the fight against a number of infectious diseases.
Almost all authors engaged in hirudotherapy note that after the treatment the general condition of the patient improves: the sleep becomes more prolonged and calm, the appetite rises, the temperature normalizes, the blood picture changes (the erythrocyte sedimentation rate decreases - the ESR decreases, or the old name - ROE), decreases, and even normalizes blood pressure, improves metabolism, resolves chronic thrombi and infiltrates, relieves pain, disappears or decreases significantly spasms coronary x (cardiac), cerebral and other blood vessels, the resulting nasal and throat bleeding quite quickly ceases. This list can be continued. Below we will see that the effect of treating patients is not limited to this.
In the mechanism of healing effects, along with the above enzymes, a special place belongs to such a component of the leech secret, as hyaluronidase. With its help, the penetration of various medicinal substances into the patient's body is facilitated, the permeability of tissues, the walls of blood vessels increases. Hyaluronidase is the vector by which other active substances that form part of the secretion of salivary glands of leeches actively penetrate the patient's body when biting skin.
In order to appreciate the skill of leeches and understand how it treats, let's recall what happens when blood vessels are damaged, for example, when we get hurt. It is necessary to break the integrity of the skin, as it immediately learns platelets, or blood plates, which play a major role in the processes of blood clotting. When bleeding, they become very sticky very quickly and stick to the edges of the wound like a plaster. If it is small, this is enough to close the gap. Platelets in this case are glued together, forming a stopper, or platelet thrombus. Ultimately, this clot reliably clogs the damaged vessel. Later (when the wound begins to heal), this clot resolves, and the integrity of the skin is restored.
A completely different effect in this mechanism occurs when the wound is leech. As part of her saliva, as we have already seen, there are compounds temporarily disabling the mechanisms of blood clotting. Some of them prevent the adherence of platelets to the walls of the vessels, others - adhesion to each other, which is very important to prevent the formation of thrombi in certain developing diseases. In some patients, blood coagulability can be increased, and thrombi can occur directly in the blood vessels, for example, with myocardial infarction, stroke: platelets accept the inner surface of the vessels modified for atherosclerosis by the atherosclerotic plaques and try to heal a "hole" - form a thrombus. Do not allow it to form or dissolve it in time means to save a person from formidable ailments, more precisely, from death. This was done by experienced doctors, putting the patient leeches.
Doctors and without the help of leeches learned (with the help of certain medications) to delay the clotting of blood. However, to dissolve the already formed thrombus is a more difficult task. If he is old, then even the best medicines can not dissolve it. But the leech successfully copes with its enzymes with old thrombi. And in this the doctors were repeatedly convinced, for example, in the treatment of neglected thrombophlebitis, releasing the veins of the patient from blood clots and thus giving them the ability to restore blood circulation. More recently, it has been proven that the leading role in getting rid of patients from blood clots is played not by hirudin with hyaluronidase, but by an enzyme of leech origin - destabilase.
And an enzyme like orangelase, even contributes to the formation of new blood vessels. As a result, swelling and thrombi in the walls of the vessels dissolve and restore the normal movement of fluids in the affected organ, and its drainage continues after removal of the leech. This property of enzymes is now used in microsurgery in the transplantation of skin flaps or autotransplantation of fingers, a nose, a penis and other organs cut off in case of accidents.
A special section of hirudology is girudoreflexotherapy. Doctors who know the mechanism of leech exposure on the body consider that it intuitively knows how to find reflexogenic zones (points) on a person's skin and sucks in them, which makes the bite particularly healing. And on what places to put leeches with various diseases, suggests the centuries-old experience of healing our ancestors.
Places of leeches.
Putting leeches in one or another point of the body is a procedure, in general, not at all complicated. However, only a doctor should set the leeches, which determines the amount of leeches for his patient and the place of their setting (depending on the general condition of the patient and the severity of the painful process).
With this or that disease, which is shown for hirudotherapy, there are strictly defined places (points) for posing leeches. And all these points are known by doctors, since the success of treatment depends on this.
Do not put leeches on the face, on the places with thick skin and on the places where the arteries and veins come close to the surface of the skin (for example, the visible veins, carotid artery).
Leech puts the diagnosis.
The famous hirudologist L.V. Tregubenko, putting the journalist on the table an ordinary three-liter jar with floating worms, lowers his hand and touches the bottom. Here is the text of the doctor's conversation with the correspondent.
- Look, this is a clever girl, she just does not bite anyone!
(Leech - they float in the water - turned around, walked on the arm and again fell into the jar).
- Since ancient times mankind is familiar with the treatment with leeches, - continues the story of Lyudmila Vladimirovna. - They were considered a panacea for all ills and diseases. Unfortunately, at some point we abandoned this method. And completely in vain. Do you think the leech only sucks blood? It introduces into the body more than 100 enzymes. And not all at once, but selectively, to whom it is necessary.
The correspondent had to convince himself of this. Tregubenko lays out a few leeches on the naked back of the patient. But none of them sucked to the body, leeches fell on the couch and on the doctor's hands.
Then Lyudmila Vladimirovna asks the patient to lie down and puts the leeches by the neck and shoulders. But they all very quickly move to the pancreas and there suck in (ie they themselves found a sick organ).
While the session of hirudotherapy lasts, Tregubenko gives another example, when the leeches unerringly found the right point for the patient:
- First I listen to the patient, I look at his medical card, and then I "listen" only to leeches. Still never for my practice leeches were not mistaken.
The next patient came to the last session.
"At first, I wanted to get relief," she says, "to relieve the heaviness and pain in the legs (it turned out that the patient, without knowing about it, suffered varicose veins). The effect after the sessions is reached. But, besides this, look.
And she showed an absolutely smooth leg.
Of course, the final effect depends on the individuality of the organism, the degree of neglect of the disease and many other factors. Yes, and specialists girudoterapevtov yet very much. But in the hands of a competent hirudologist the leech has a noticeable effect even with neglected diseases. As we see from the above, leeches really can correctly recognize the disease, and therefore, and find the right point on the patient's body, the bite in which will have a healing effect on the diseased organ, diseased tissue.
Why the leech is effective for all diseases.
Three blocks of active factors of hirudotherapy were determined: enzymes, energy, bacterial factor. This therapeutic complex, with the help of technologies developed in recent years, penetrates into the internal environment of the body in three ways: through the bloodstream, through the lymph and as a result of influence on the parameters of the energy system (biologically active points, chakras). Nonaggressive penetration of leech enzymes and energy into homeostasis is used in practical medicine on the basis of a universal health program, which consists of three parallel activities: the normalization of energy exchange, physical and spiritual purification, local and general effects on the focus of the disease. These three triples - three blocks of active factors, three ways of entering homeostasis and three points of a universal health program determine the concept of hirudotherapy that can embrace the triple nature of man: the Spirit, the Soul and the body. The advantage of hirudotherapy before other methods of natural and technocratic treatment consists primarily in the fact that the secret of the salivary glands of the leeches affects the basic mechanisms of the development of the disease - tissue ischemia and hypoxia, microcirculation disorders, reversing the process and disrupting the pathological chain of events in the focus of the disease. In the hierarchy of naturotherapeutic methods, higher stages, apparently, should be given to occupational therapy. For example, in one leech, based on the principle of potentiated synergism, all the biologically active substances necessary for life support, which are above the search for dozens of plants and products of the beekeeper, in order to make up an individual recipe with the greatest difficulty. In modern clinical medicine there is no other multifactor and safe method like hirudotherapy.
